Spring and Summer Nail Trends Cleveland Is Wearing This Year
Warm weather in Northeast Ohio means patios, Lake Erie beaches, and finally showing off your toes. These are the spring and summer nail trends Cleveland clients are booking at our Westlake suite this season.

Soft French and micro French tips
The French manicure keeps coming back, but this year it is softer and thinner. Micro French tips, just a sliver of white or color at the edge, look clean and modern on short and medium nails.
Colored French tips are also everywhere for summer. Think coral, lime, sky blue, or a different color on each finger. They feel playful but still polished, which makes them perfect for both work and weekends.
A crisp French depends on a clean base. The Brazilian method of cuticle work makes the nail bed look smooth and even, so the tip really pops.
Micro French also works well over a short builder gel set for anyone who wants nails that look neat even after a day at the pool.
Glazed chrome and pearl finishes
Chrome is not going anywhere. For warmer months, clients are choosing sheer, glazed chrome over soft pink, milky white, or pale peach. It catches the sun beautifully and looks great in vacation photos.
Pearl and iridescent finishes are close cousins of this look. They are subtle enough for every day but still special. Chrome is a $15 add-on to any gel service.
Glazed and pearl finishes look best over a smooth, sheer base at short to medium length. They also hide a bit of growth better than an opaque color, which makes them a smart pick if you are traveling and may stretch your next appointment.
Bright summer brights
Summer is the time to go bold. Hot pink, tangerine, cobalt blue, and juicy reds are some of the most requested colors once Memorial Day rolls around.
Brights look especially good on toes. If you are heading to the beach at Huntington in Bay Village or spending weekends on a boat, a bright gel pedicure stays glossy through sun, sand, and water much longer than regular polish.
Bright shades show every flaw at the edge, so the clean cuticle line from the Brazilian method really earns its keep here. Neons in particular can look streaky, and a white base under the color helps them show evenly.

Ombre and sunset gradients
Ombre is a natural fit for summer. Soft pink fading into white is the classic, but sunset gradients that move from orange to pink are having a moment. Some clients go subtle with a nude-to-blush fade, which is a nice way to try a trend without committing to color.
Ombre starts at $15 as an add-on, and it pairs well with almond and coffin shapes.
In a nude-to-blush or pink-to-white fade, the lightest shade often sits near the cuticle, so new growth blends in more than it would with a solid bright.
Short, natural, healthy nails
Not every summer trend is loud. A lot of clients want short, healthy-looking nails with a sheer, glossy finish. This is where builder gel shines. A thin layer of Luminary builder gel adds strength so your natural nails can grow without breaking, and a sheer pink on top keeps it simple.
It is a great look for anyone who swims, gardens, or just does not want to think about their nails all summer.
Pool chlorine, lake water, sunscreen and extra hand washing can dry out cuticles quickly. A nightly swipe of cuticle oil keeps the skin around a short, healthy set looking as polished as the color.
Summer toes and pedicure picks
Sandal season is short in Northeast Ohio, so make it count. Our pedicures come in three tiers. The Sober Pedicure at $45 covers the relaxing essentials. The Tipsy Pedicure at $55 adds more pampering. The Wasted Pedicure at $65 is the full spa experience with an exfoliating scrub, hydrating mask, and extended massage.
Add gel polish for $15 and your color will hold through weeks of sandals, pool days, and summer festivals. If you just need a fresh color on gel toes, a gel polish change is $28.
For a fun summer look, try bright toes with softer fingers, like hot pink toes paired with a sheer pink or micro French on your hands.
Before a long weekend at the beach, book toes a few days ahead so any dryness from the scrub settles and your heels feel soft in sandals.
Fresh florals and simple nail art
Spring brings back small florals, tiny daisies, and soft swirls on a sheer base. Minimal nail art is the theme. One or two accent nails with a small design feel fresh without being too busy.
Fruit-inspired art like lemons and cherries also pops up every summer, along with simple dots and lines. Custom nail art is priced by design, so bring a photo and Danielle will let you know the price before she starts.
If you want to try art without committing to a full set, ask for one accent nail on each hand. It is an easy way to test a design before a vacation or a wedding.

Frequently asked questions
What nail colors are popular for summer?
Hot pink, coral, tangerine, cobalt blue, and bright reds are popular for summer. Sheer glazed chrome over soft pink or white is also a big request.
Are French tips still in style?
Yes. Micro French tips and colored French tips are some of the most requested looks this year. They work on short and long nails alike.
What is glazed chrome?
Glazed chrome is a sheer chrome powder layered over a light base color, which gives a glossy, pearly shine. At our salon, chrome is a $15 add-on.
Which lasts longer for summer, gel or regular polish?
Gel lasts much longer and holds up better to sun, pool water, and sand. Regular polish is great if you like changing colors often.
Should I get a gel pedicure for vacation?
Yes, a gel pedicure is a great choice before a trip. It stays glossy and chip-free for weeks, so you will not need a touch-up while you are away.
