"I grew up in Brazil, where getting your nails done isn't a treat you save for special occasions. It's part of the week, like going to the market. Women in my family and my neighborhood cared about clean, crisp nails, and I learned early what a really well-done manicure looks like."

"I moved to the United States in 2017. When I started doing nails here, I noticed most people had never had a true Brazilian manicure. They'd had their cuticles pushed back and polish painted on, and that was it. I wanted to share the way I was raised to do nails, with the same care and the same clean finish."

"That's how Brazilian Nails By Danielle started. Today I work out of a private suite at 30183 Detroit Rd in Westlake, right in the Crocker Park area, and I also bring my kit to clients' homes across Westlake, Medina and the Cleveland west side."

What makes a Brazilian manicure different

"People ask me this all the time, so here's the short version. I don't just push your cuticles back. I remove the dry skin across the entire nail bed so the nail is completely clean before any product goes on."

"Then I apply polish slightly under the cuticle line. That way, as your nail grows, there's no visible gap for about the first week. Most manicures start to look grown-out within a few days. Mine are meant to look fresh longer."

"The last step is the one clients notice most. I paint over the edges on purpose, then clean them back with an orange-wood stick wrapped in cotton and dipped in remover. It gives you a very crisp line around the whole nail. It takes a little more time, and I think it's worth every minute."

A private suite, one client at a time

Danielle works by appointment only and sees one client at a time. There's no waiting room full of strangers, no tech switching between three chairs, and no rushing to make room for the next walk-in. The suite is quiet, and your appointment is about you.

After-hours appointments are available for clients who can't get away during the workday. If evenings or weekends work best for you, booking two to three weeks ahead gives you the best shot at the time you want.

"I take sterilization seriously. Every implement I use goes through medical-grade sterilization. You should never have to wonder whether the tools touching your hands are clean."

Most clients come to the Westlake suite from nearby neighborhoods like Rocky River, Bay Village, Avon and North Olmsted. It's an easy stop before or after an afternoon at Crocker Park, and after-hours times make it work around a full workday.

"Some of my clients can't get away, or they want their nails done with friends or family at home. That's why I also do house calls across Westlake, Medina and the Cleveland west side. Brides and event groups should reach out two to three months ahead so I can hold the date."
