Custom Nail Art for Cleveland Clients

Custom nail art at Brazilian Nails By Danielle is designed around you, from one tiny accent nail to a full set of hand-painted detail. Clients from across Cleveland bring a photo, a color story or just a vibe, and Danielle turns it into nails that actually look like the picture.

What custom nail art includes

Nail art covers anything beyond a single solid color. That might be fine line work, flowers, abstract swirls, little hearts, tortoiseshell, cat eye, marble, gems, French twists, seasonal themes or a design you sketched on a napkin. It can be one accent finger or all ten.

Art is added on top of a base service. Most clients choose a gel manicure, Gel X extensions or Luminary builder gel, depending on how much length and strength they want. The base matters because detailed work needs a smooth, even surface to sit on, and it needs to last long enough for you to enjoy it.

Every design is painted by hand in the suite. We don't use stickers to fake detail work, and we don't rush a design to fit a slot that's too short. If a look needs more time, we'll tell you when you book.

Who custom nail art is for

Some clients want a statement for a birthday, a concert downtown or a trip somewhere warm. Others want something small and wearable for work, like a thin gold line or a single dot near the cuticle. Both are welcome here.

If you've been to a busy salon and shown a photo only to get something that looked nothing like it, you're exactly who this service is for. With one client at a time, there's room to talk through what you love about the inspiration and what should change to suit your nail shape and length.

You don't need a perfect reference. A Pinterest board, a color from your outfit, a pattern on a dress or even a word like moody or soft gives Danielle enough to start sketching ideas with you.

Nail art is also a good way to try something new without committing to it for months. Gel and builder sets get refreshed every few weeks, so if you've always wanted to try a bold color or a graphic pattern, this is a low-risk place to do it. If you love it, we can build on it next time. If not, the next set can go back to something classic.

The Brazilian difference under the art

Great art falls apart on sloppy prep. Before any design goes on, Danielle uses the Brazilian method to clear dry skin across the entire nail bed rather than simply pushing the cuticle back. That gives a clean canvas and helps the product stay put.

The base color is then applied just slightly under the cuticle line, so for roughly the first week of growth there's no visible gap at the bottom of your design. Edges are painted over and then cleaned back with an orange-wood stick wrapped in cotton and dipped in remover. That crisp outline makes fine art look sharper, because the frame around it is clean.

Brazilian beauty culture puts real weight on detail and finish. Danielle grew up in it, and you'll notice it in the small stuff: lines that taper the way they should, colors that match from one hand to the other and a cuticle area that looks tidy up close.

What happens at your custom nail art appointment

Here's what to expect when you come in for a custom nail art set in Westlake.

  • Send your inspiration photos when you book or text them to (216) 260-4488 ahead of time.
  • At the start, we confirm the design, colors, shape and length together.
  • Old product is removed safely and your natural nails are shaped.
  • Brazilian cuticle prep clears dry skin across the nail bed.
  • Your base service goes on: gel, Gel X or Luminary builder gel.
  • Art is hand-painted layer by layer, curing between steps so detail stays sharp.
  • Gems, chrome or texture are added last and sealed under top coat.
  • We check every nail at eye level, clean the edges and finish with cuticle oil.

Aftercare for nail art

Art is sealed under top coat, but a few habits keep it looking crisp.

Designs with raised texture or 3D charms are best for special occasions rather than everyday wear if you type all day or work with your hands. We can always tone a design down to something flatter that holds up to your routine.

  • Use cuticle oil daily so the skin around your design stays smooth.
  • Wear gloves for dishes and cleaning to protect the top coat.
  • Avoid using nails as tools, especially on nails with gems.
  • If a gem pops off, save it and text us rather than gluing it at home.
  • Book your next appointment before the regrowth starts to pull focus from the design.

Custom nail art pricing

Because no two designs are the same, custom art is quoted by the design rather than set at one flat number. Simple accents cost less than a full set of hand-painted detail. Some finishes have known add-on prices: ombre starts at $15 and chrome is $15. Your base service is priced separately, starting at $43 for a gel manicure, $65 for Gel X and $85 for a Luminary builder gel full set.

Send your inspiration ahead of time and we'll give you a clear quote before we start. That way you can adjust the design to your budget instead of finding out at checkout.

Group and event designs for brides, bachelorettes and birthdays can be planned together so every set matches. Reach out two to three months ahead for wedding art so there's time to test the design first.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does custom nail art cost in Cleveland?

Custom nail art is quoted by design, so the price depends on detail and how many nails get art. Known add-ons include ombre from $15 and chrome at $15. Send a photo ahead of time and we'll quote it before your appointment.

Can I bring a photo of the nail art I want?

Yes, please do. Photos help us match colors, line weight and placement. We'll also tell you honestly if a design needs adjusting for your nail length or shape.

How long does a nail art appointment take?

It depends on the design and base service. A few accent nails adds a little time, while a full hand-painted set adds much more. We'll estimate the time when you share your inspiration so we can book the right slot.

Does nail art last as long as plain gel?

Yes, when it's sealed properly. Hand-painted art sits under the same cured top coat as plain gel. Gems and raised texture can catch on things, so those need a little more care.

Can you do nail art on short natural nails?

Yes. Short nails look great with minimal art like fine lines, dots, micro French or a single accent. We'll scale the design so it fits the nail instead of looking crowded.

Do you do nail art on Gel X extensions?

Yes. Gel X gives extra length and a smooth surface, which is ideal for detailed designs. Gel X starts at $65 before art.

Can you recreate a design I saw on Instagram?

Usually, yes. We'll recreate the look as closely as your nails allow and suggest small tweaks if something won't translate. If you know who created the original, tell us so we can credit them when we share photos.

Is hand-painted nail art better than nail stickers?

Hand-painted art lasts longer and looks more natural up close because it's built into the gel layers. Stickers can lift at the edges. Every design we do is painted by hand.

Do you offer matching nail art for groups?

Yes. Matching or coordinated designs are popular for bridal parties, birthdays and bachelorettes. See our events and parties page for group bookings.
