Edgewater is the part of Cleveland where you can walk to the beach. Summer means mornings at Edgewater Park, paddleboards near the shore, picnics on the bluff above the water and sunsets with the downtown skyline off to the east. Winter means wind off the lake that dries out your hands in about a week.

Getting to Westlake from Edgewater

From the streets around Lake Avenue and Clifton Boulevard, most clients head west toward the suburbs and pick up I-90 to the Crocker-Bassett exit. If you live closer to the park itself, the Shoreway can take you to the highway quickly.

Appointments are one at a time, so you will walk in to a ready chair rather than a waiting room. If you are coming straight from the beach, that is fine. Just give your hands a quick wash when you arrive so Danielle starts with clean nails.

Timing tip for summer: book your manicure a day or two before a big beach weekend rather than the morning of. Gel cures fully under the lamp, so it is ready for water right away, but a day of normal wear lets you spot anything you want tweaked. For winter, keep your builder gel fills on a regular schedule, every few weeks, so the lake wind never finds a weak spot.

House calls near Edgewater Park

How a Brazilian manicure handles sun and sand

The Brazilian method starts with the cuticle area. Danielle clears dry skin from across the entire nail bed rather than pushing it back, so there is nothing for polish to grab onto except clean nail. That matters at the beach, because lifted skin is often where a chip starts.

She sets the color slightly beneath the cuticle line so you do not see a bare strip at the base for roughly the first week. Then she cleans the edges by hand with an orange-wood stick wrapped in cotton and dipped in remover. The crisp border holds up surprisingly well to a summer of swimming.

Danielle grew up with this technique in Brazil before moving to the United States in 2017. Every implement goes through medical-grade sterilization between clients.

Book on Booksy or text (216) 260-4488. Summer evenings and weekends book up quickly, so plan two to three weeks out. After-hours appointments are available by request. For a wedding, reach out two to three months ahead.

Please give at least 24 hours notice to cancel. Late cancellations may be charged up to 50 percent and no-shows are charged in full. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your service may need to be shortened or moved.
