If you are going straight into a few hours of shopping, gel is the smart choice. A gel manicure starts at $43 and you leave fully dry, so you can dig through a purse, carry bags and hold a coffee without a smudge. A gel polish change is $28 if you already wear gel and just want a new color.

If you are heading to a long lunch or a slow walk, a Brazilian manicure with regular polish at $30 works well. Give it some time to set before anything that is rough on your hands.

If the whole point of the day is to slow down, start with a pedicure. The Sober Pedicure at $45 covers the essentials, and the Wasted Pedicure at $65 adds a scrub, hydrating mask and extended massage. Wear open-toe shoes or bring sandals if you choose regular polish on your toes.

Getting here

From I-90, take the Crocker-Bassett exit toward Detroit Road. From south Westlake and North Olmsted, Crocker Road north leads up to the Crocker Park area. From Rocky River and Bay Village, Detroit Road runs west, and from Avon it runs east.

Once you finish, you are only a few moments from the district. Many clients park once for the whole day, but if you are carrying a lot of shopping, it can be easier to come to your appointment first and head to Crocker Park after, so your bags are not in the car the whole time.

Danielle moved from Brazil to the United States in 2017 and grew up in Brazilian beauty culture. Every manicure and pedicure uses the Brazilian method: dry skin removed across the entire nail bed, color placed slightly under the cuticle line so there is no gap for about the first week, and edges cleaned back with a cotton-wrapped orange-wood stick dipped in remover.

Every metal implement goes through medical-grade sterilization between clients.
