Prom and Homecoming Nails in Westlake: A Planning Guide
Homecoming season is here, and prom is not far behind. If you want prom or homecoming nails in Westlake that look great in photos and last through the whole weekend, this guide covers timing, services, and styles.

When to book prom and homecoming nails
Dance weekends are some of the busiest days of the year, because everyone wants their nails done the day before or the morning of. Our suite is one client at a time, so those slots go quickly.
We recommend booking two to three weeks ahead at minimum. For prom, a month out is even better. If you are getting ready with a group of friends, reach out early so we can try to line up appointments back to back.
The best timing is one to two days before the dance. That gives gel time to settle and leaves room for a fix if something comes up, without the stress of a same-day rush.
Group bookings for a dance weekend fill the fastest, so the friend who is organizing should send everyone's names and services in one message. That makes it much easier to build a back-to-back schedule that works for the whole group.
Which service lasts through the big night
For most students, a gel manicure is the sweet spot. It starts at $43, looks glossy for weeks, and will not chip during pictures, dinner, and dancing.
If you want length, Gel X extensions start at $65 and take about an hour and a half. They are lighter than acrylic and come off cleanly afterward, so your natural nails are ready for school and sports.
Planning to keep them for a while? Luminary builder gel starts at $85 for a full set and strengthens your natural nails instead of covering them up.
Regular polish at $30 can work for homecoming if you book it the day before and are careful, but it is more likely to chip during a long night. Dip powder at $65 is another durable choice if you want strong, glossy color without added length.
Matching your nails to your dress
You do not need to match your nails exactly to your dress. Often the best look is one that complements it.
- Black or jewel-tone dress: a deep red, chrome, or classic French.
- Pastel or floral dress: soft pink, milky white, or a pearl finish.
- Sparkly or sequin dress: keep nails simple, like a sheer nude or micro French, so they do not compete.
- Bold color dress: neutral nails with a single accent nail in the dress color.
- Not sure yet: a nude-to-white ombre goes with everything.

Popular styles this season
Chrome over a light base is one of the most requested looks for dances because it photographs beautifully under flash. French tips, especially almond-shaped with a thin white line, are a timeless choice. Ombre and simple nail art like a single rhinestone or a small heart are also popular.
Chrome is a $15 add-on and ombre starts at $15. Custom nail art is priced by design.
Rhinestones and charms can catch on hair and fabric, so keep them to one or two accent nails if you are wearing an updo or a delicate dress. Under bright camera flash, cream polishes usually look smoother than very sheer shades, which can let the natural nail show through.
Don't forget your toes
Open-toe heels mean your pedicure is in pictures too. A gel polish change on toes is $28, or treat yourself with one of our pedicures, from the Sober Pedicure at $45 to the full Wasted Pedicure spa experience at $65.
Book toes in the same visit as your hands so you only make one trip. If you are wearing strappy heels, match your fingers or keep the color simple, and bring the shoes along to see how everything looks together. Gel polish on toes holds up well through a long night of dancing.
Caring for your nails after the dance
Your nails should still look great the week after the dance. Keep them glossy with cuticle oil each night, and wear gloves if you help clean up after a party or do dishes. If you play sports, let us know when you book so Danielle can suggest a shape and length that will hold up at practice.
When you are ready for something new, book a removal or a fresh set. Please do not peel off gel or pop off extensions. It takes layers of your natural nail with it and can leave nails thin and sore. A proper removal keeps your nails healthy for the next big event.
Shape and length for dance photos
Almond and oval are the most photo-friendly shapes because they make fingers look long and slim when you are holding a bouquet or posing with friends. Coffin is a good pick if you want a bolder look with your dress.
If you have never worn long nails, consider a medium length. It still looks dressy in pictures but is easier for pinning a boutonniere, using your phone, and handling a clutch all night.
A note for parents
Our private suite on Detroit Road in Westlake is calm and one-on-one, which many parents appreciate. Parents are welcome to come along. Medical-grade sterilization for every implement means you do not have to worry about hygiene.
Book on Booksy or call or text (216) 260-4488. Please give 24 hours notice for any changes.
Many parents like to set a budget before the appointment. A gel manicure starting at $43 and a $28 gel polish change on toes cover most dance looks, while extensions and custom art add to the total. If your student plays a sport or is in a program with nail length rules, check those before booking long extensions.
